VM hosting provider, Bulletproof Networks, has launched a new management application offer that it claims will give virtualistion users a stronger advantage over traditional physical environments.
VM Tardis allows users to pause, rewind, fast forward and 'slow-motion' hosted virtual machines. Bulletproof director of sales and marketing, Lorenzo Modesto, said the application took virtualised environments to a new level in functionality.
"Virtualised environments are as good as physical environments in terms of resource control, but offers additional virtualisation benefits through applications like VM Tardis," Modesto said.
VM Tardis could potentially be used to speed up credit card transactions, debug machines, and reverse system crashes. Modesto said the main source of leads at this stage were source engine driven and amongst the small to medium businesses.
Modesto said Bulletproof is outsourcing VM Tardis to third parties. "We're already doing this for around 30-40 per cent of our dedicated VMware hosting," he said.
Bulletproof Networks is a managed service provider supplying high performance, high availability managed hosting, virtualisation and website infrastructure monitoring.
