Ekahau surveys Australian market with inTechnology

Wireless distributor to offer new education programs and incentives to try and draw resellers away from the competition

Comments

US RFID vendor, Ekahau, has signed inTechnology as its first Australian distributor.

Ekahau produces wireless survey software that allows an organisation to survey a site and determine where wireless access points need to be placed to prevent wireless leakage outside the office space and maintain wireless strength throughout the office.

inTechnology group sales and marketing director, Mark Winter, said the Ekahau solution filled a gap in the distributor's wireless silo, and was complementary to the Colubris and AirWave solutions already in its portfolio.

Winter also claimed the Australian market was open to solutions of this type. "There's one major player in the space at the moment, which is AirMagnet. We're bringing in a competing technology that we consider to be superior," he said.

Ekahau has been in operation for seven years and sold ad hoc to Australian clients. It has not previously had either channel partners or program.

inTechnology has developed a two-day training course for resellers and is offering not for resale licenses as incentives to resellers, who can download an evaluation version of the solution.

Winter said Ekahau had also developed a marketing and lead generation program from the US that would be implemented locally as part of inTechnology's go-to market strategy
