Oracle targets mid-market through select partners

Oracle has hired four of its top resellers to target the mid-market in a bold pricing scheme aimed at winning new customers and measuring the effectiveness of its channel.

The vendor is trialling a fixed-time, fixed-price solution for the mid-market, dubbed The Financial FastForward program. The package consists of Oracle Financials software, including general ledger, cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable and purchase order modules, as well as Oracle's database and tools. It will be sold exclusively by Red Rock Consulting (based in Sydney), Igatech (based in Adelaide), Assist (based in Canberra) and ASG Solutions (based in Perth).

The vendor has negotiated for the four channel partners to sell their services at such a price as to be suited to companies with revenues between $50 million and $250 million. A 20-user package, for example, is fixed at a price of around $220,000 and an implementation period of less than 45 days.
