Canon's Business Imaging Solutions Group (BISG) is rolling out a national e-learning module for its partners.
BISG national manager of business partner sales, Mark Wood said the online module provided partners with technical proficiency training and accreditation across its business imaging products.
"It adds to our competitive nature in the market place by being able to deliver that type of product training. We are also able to release products at a much faster pace than our competitors would be able to," he said. "When we do release new products, the e-learning module enables us to have a broad-based curriculum that we can get out into the field in a very short space of time."
Canon has direct sales and services touch in metropolitan areas and has a business partner network for regional areas. All up the vendor has about 70 partners and about 300 resellers that go through its distributors Alloys International, ACA Pacific and Anitech.
Wood said the e-learning module would provide training uniformity across its direct team and business partners.
"There is one common theme with all of our partners and it is the tyranny of distance, which can range from a two-hour drive to a five-hour plane flight in order to be able to touch all of our business partners," he said.
Besides the training curriculum around Canon products, the module also features modules around workforce management, OH&S and HR.
