Unified communications vendor, Polycom, has appointed three staff to its channel team as it revamps its local partner program.
Grace Titioka and Mark Braxton have been appointed as business development managers. Steve Bennett comes into a partner enablement manager role.
Prior to Polycom, Bennett was a partner account manager with Microsoft. Titoika was previously senior sales executive for Integrated Vision. Braxton comes from a telecommunications integration background and has held business development and account management roles at NSC, NetStar and BTAS.
They will all work alongside distribution manager, Ray Lo, to develop and implement an improved channel program.
Polycom country manager, Michael Chetner, said the aim was to deliver a more localised and better resourced implementation of Polycom's global partner program.
"A year ago we conducted a review about what Polycom needed to do in the region to expand. We've come up with a program to differentiate and empower our partners from that review," Chetner said.
The new program aims to give partners closer access to Polycom. Joint sales and marketing initiatives and roadmap sharing are key new program features.
Polycom's partner program has two tiers - Video Certified Partner and Infrastructure Partner level. The latter requires complex skill sets on the part of the partner.
"Partners on the Infrastructure level get rewarded for implementing help desks and the like. We also encourage our Video Certified partners to work with each other wherever possible in complimentary environments," Chetner said.
