The Frame Group has won a contract with Fujitsu to upgrade its Homebush-based datacentre.
The integrator is providing project management consulting as well as building, designing and implementing the upgrade. The contract value has not been disclosed.
The Frame Group national sales manager, Roger Barlow, said some important aspects for Fujitsu included getting customers in their datacentres early and having a design that was able to comply with their green policy and in affect, reduce their carbon footprint.
"It was important the design took into account all of the available technologies that would allows that to happen. Fujitsu also wanted to make sure it is highly secure and that it met Australian security standards," he said.
"We don't just throw in standard technologies - we put a lot more thought into the design and configuration process."
The contract will also see The Frame Group supply power, air conditioning and environment monitoring as well as fire protection, rack equipment, remote management systems and a cabling infrastructure.
Fujitsu operates datacentres in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane. Barlow said the company was experiencing huge growth in its datacentre practice.
The Frame Group is looking to hire an extra two staff in the next month for datacentre and design consulting work. The company has just under 100 staff.
