HP has selected long-term distribution partner, Avnet, to join its new Entry-Level Integrity Preferred Value Added Distributor Program.
HP business development manager for Integrity servers, Rob Becker, said the initiative was designed to deliver more value around the server platform.
"We determined the best way to leverage the channel was to put our efforts behind one partner for this initiative, so we appointed Avnet through a competitive tender," he said.
Avnet needed to demonstrate specialised resources, commitment to pre-sales and business development resources to gain accreditation for the initiative. Avnet marketing director, Michael Costigan, said the distributor has built a team of 10 staff who are 100 per cent dedicated to HP, and plans to hire more HP-centric staff.
New Avnet employee, Raj Peruri, has been appointed business development manager and will oversee the program. He has 15 years of experience with HP products.
Costigan said Avnet and HP would work together on sales initiatives and targeting one-on-one marketing campaigns to select HP customers.
Becker outlined ISV 'marriages' as an important marketing initiative, which involved HP and Avnet teaming small software companies with systems integrators to build targeted marketing campaigns.
"We've been working with HP in Australia for five years, and we add a lot of value to the Integrity platform. It was natural for us to put in a tender for this program," Costigan said.
