Home and SMB ISP, Spin Internet Services, has launched a new reseller program in a bid to attract a substantial number of new retailers and systems integrators.
The program involves large once-off payments for reseller activations, instead of an ongoing commission. The ISP is offering up to $155 in commission for individual broadband sign-ups and up to $900 on corporate DSL plans.
Spin marketing manager, Bill McArthur, said the ISP wanted to attract between 500 and 1000 resellers in the first year.
"The one-off payments are quite large. We'll feel a bit of pain initially but we want to make sure our resellers are impressed with what we're offering," he said.
Registered resellers also gain a free dial-up connection, and after 25 activations a free ADSL account. Spin also provides point-of-sale marketing material including brochures and posters and developed back-end systems providing commission tracking.
The company had 30 resellers on its previous program, but has already signed 20 under the new initiative.
"We weren't doing anything with the old program. It wasn't effective, and was difficult to understand," McArthur said.
Spin is in discussions with third-party reseller consultancy companies to build awareness for its new program.
