Webroot announces channel charter

Security vendor looks to avoid conflict as partner numbers grows

Security software vendor, Webroot, has come up with a Channel Charter to reaffirm its commitment to partners and avoid potential conflict.

Asia-Pacific managing director, Charles Heunemann, said the charter was about accountability and showing partners Webroot's commitment to indirect sales.

Webroot launched in the region in October last year with two founding partners Clearswift and Coretech. It is a channel focused organisation and runs a three-tier partner program with associate, authorised and premium participation levels. The vendor now has nine partners.

Heunemann said Webroot was in discussion with other potential partners. It is looking for representation in the messaging and Web security markets.

"As a security-as-a-service solution, we find the desktop and gateway solutions in this space to be a saturated market, so we see good opportunity to generate new business in this space," he said.
