Sydney-based channel consulting company, Base IT, has formed an agreement to bring Crescendo Network's network management solutions to the local market. Crescendo specialises in solutions for improving data traffic across networks. Target markets for the solution are organisations featuring heavily trafficked or graphics-based websites suffering from performance lag. Existing customers include the Israeli online Yellow Pages, human resources firm, TriNet, and Colgate Palmolive. Base IT director, Bruce Allan, said its first goal was to recruit appropriate channel partners. He said Base IT is looking for resellers already established in the networking space, and suggested Juniper resellers looking for an alternative would be a good fit. The networking vendor withdrew from the DX networking market this month. "In March we'll look to telemarketing and promotions, but for now we'll leverage the high profit margins we can offer resellers for the first three months," Allan said. Base IT will provide level one support, training and implementation assistance to partners in Australia and New Zealand. Its business model revolves around finding and setting up new business products in the Australian market. The company also assists with channel development. Allan said the Israeli Chamber of Commerce and Trade Consulate had originally approached the company with the Crescendo solution.
