Thin computing vendor, Wyse Technologies, has promoted Ward Nash to the newly created role of regional sales director. Nash has been with Wyse for about eight years and was previously managing NSW, Queensland and New Zealand business. He will continue to cover those areas, but also focus on delivering a more broad-based approach with resellers. "We do everything through the channel via our partners," Nash said. "We also have very close relationships with Citrix and VMware and we will continue to establish those." Nash predicted a big year for thin client computing and said Wyse would work closely with partners around providing virtual desktop solutions. Increasing focus on going green would be one of the big market drivers for virtual desktop infrastructure take-up, he said. "We are going to be sticking as much as we can with our partners around virtual desktop," he said. "We have got massive opportunities in the banking sector, and VMware and Citrix will have an answer for virtual desktop this year as well." Wyse has about 150 resellers locally and distributes its products through Express Data and itX.
