Knowledge management software vendor Open Text has appointed Netbridge and Logica in Australia and gen-i in New Zealand as value-added resellers, and is on the look out for more partners.
John Armenakas, newly appointed vice president of Open Text Asia-Pacific, said that before his appointment the company was selling through both direct sales and "boutique systems integrators". But Armenakas now believes the scope for collaboration and knowledge management software has widened, in terms of both functionality and potential customers. He thus wants to appoint large resellers and integrators with presence across the region.
Armenakas said he believes the software is also suited for delivery via an ASP model, and is looking for competent players that can host knowledge management solutions. Despite any industry cynicism of the ASP model, Armenakas said the technology is mature enough for such an endeavour.
Open Text implements its solutions with a combination of its own professional services, staff and a variety of partners. At present, direct licensing sales account for around 60 per cent of Open Text's business.
