Informatica launches partner program

Features include access to partner portal, free e-learning modules, certifications and lead registration

Enterprise software provider, Informatica, has launched a global channel program to improve its interaction with partners.

Called Inform, the program gives partners access to evaluation and demonstration software, free e-learning modules around various Informatica products, certifications, lead registration and license renewal management tools. They also get access to the beInformed partner portal featuring marketing, sales and technical information, whitepapers, customer referral stories and webinars.

"Partners can now fit in training when it suits them," Informatica managing director, Laurie Newman, said. "We also have a much more logically laid out and detailed certification program. This includes much better sales lead and joint pipeline reporting tracking systems, which get shared around the company to limit any potential conflict between our direct sales people and our partners."

Inform is split into three tiers - Foundation, Elite and Global. Those signing up as entry-level Foundation partners will not need to meet any technical certifications. Elite partners however, would need five certified product consultants and an active interest in finding joint customers, Newman said.

Global status will encompass Informatica's multinational partners, including Accenture and Wipro. These partners will be provided with a dedicated account team.

Locally, the vendor has about 20 partners. Newman said about 75 per cent of Informatica's business involves a channel partner.

"We provide financial benefits for partners that bring licenses into Informatica," he said. "We are acknowledging that partners are fundamental [to our business] and we want to make it as easy as possible for them to access all of the knowledge we have to help them in the market."
