AOC Monitors has brought on TodayTech as its first national Australian distributor to grow its reseller coverage.
TodayTech managing director, Jack Zhong, said it had been looking for a tier-two vendor which was complementary to its branded monitors business. The distributor also carries screens from Samsung and LG.
"We wanted to bring on a tier-two player to fulfill requests from dealers looking for value over branding," he said. "We've seen a maturity in the technology and quality of LCD monitors and AOC's screens fit well with our market prescription."
TodayTech will have access to the full range of AOC products, which consist of entry-level 19-inch LCDs through to 26-inch models. AOC is a registered brand of Hong Kong-based monitor manufacturer, TPV Group.
AOC spokesperson, Debra Chien, said it had been looking for a national distributor with broad reseller coverage to lead its mass market push. The vendor will also continue to distribute its products through existing NSW-based supplier, Compucon.
"TodayTech has reach and good products which complement our range," she said.
TodayTech's target market was system builders and corporate resellers looking for a value alternative to traditional brands, Zhong said.
The distributor plans to bundle AOC screens with notebook products as well as TV tuner boxes from Macron.
Zhong said it would start shipping the tuners this month.
