Acer notebooks now with Telstra GPRS

Acer Computer has added Telstra's general packet radio service (GPRS) functionality to its TravelMate notebook PC range, including the soon-to-be-released TravelMate C100 Tablet PC. Acer will use the NokiaD211 GPRS PC Card for Internet connection via Telstra's GPRS network. Users can also choose to use the Telstra Mobile Internet Accelerator, which significantly reduces the download time of Web browsing by compressing pages before they get sent from the Internet to the Mobile Internet server and then to their Acer TravelMate notebook or Tablet PC.

The Acer bundle includes a GPRS PC card with SIM. It will carry a retail price of $599.
