Security vendor, Websense, has launched the ChannelConnect Global Partner program to bring SurfControl and Websense partners under one umbrella.
Channel manager, Mark Spencer, said ChannelConnect combined the best components from both company's previous programs. Websense acquired SurfControl in October for about $US400 million.
Partners will be split into three tiers - platinum, gold and silver.
"We will be talking to existing partners about the appropriateness of their current position and where it leads them to in the new program," Spencer said.
Those on-board can gain access to an online portal that supplies product information and guidelines, technical and sales training, certifications, marketing kits and deal registration.
There will also be product bundling, which includes Web, messaging and data security, as well as recurring revenue and cross-selling opportunities.
Spencer said he would like to see about 100 resellers sign up to the program, with about 10 becoming platinum and 30 reaching gold status.
ChannelConnect aims to address a variety of resellers, VARs, system integrators, technology alliance and authorised training partners.
"It's all about commitment to our products, resources and partnership. We want to discuss that with existing partners to ensure they are correctly positioned in the new program," Spencer said. "We'll be delivering finer details about ChannelConnect to our existing and prospective channel partners towards the end of February."
