Netgear

Providing high-level security and ideal for small-to-medium businesses, Netgear's FM114P Prosafe 802.11b firewall is a mega-capable, true five-in-one product incorporating an SPI firewall, router, switch, printer server, and wireless access point. The fully equipped broadband-capable firewall provides high-level security through denial-of-service protection, intrusion detection (using stateful packet inspection), URL access and content filtering, logging reporting and real-time alerts. The FM114P's Smart Wizard enables quick connection to an ISP, while the easy-to-use Web-based configuration screen and Install Assistant reduce setup time. The FM114P has an integrated 4-port 10/100Mbps switch and is compatible with Windows, Unix, Macintosh and Linux platforms. It comes complete with a free antivirus PC software bundle, an Ethernet cable and a three-year warranty.

Sniffer

The Sniffer Portable Wireless PDA option, a product line of Network Associates, is designed for organisations wanting to check for unauthorised use of a wireless network. It currently runs on the Compaq iPAQ and is ideal for detecting and resolving wireless security and performance breakdowns on 802.11b wireless networks. The device allows network professionals to perform initial data collection, analysis and resolution of security and availability issues such as rogue access points and radio frequency interference. If further analysis is required, collected data can be transmitted to the Sniffer Wireless for application analysis.

D-Link

D-Link has released the D-LinkAir DWL-810 Ethernet-to-Wireless Bridge with the ability to connect gaming and entertainment consoles to the Internet. The new version of the DWL-810 allows an Xbox or PlayStation 2 to link up and connect in either ad hoc mode, one console to another console, infrastructure mode, over the Internet or to an 802.11b wireless network with a wireless access point or router.

The HP Deskjet 450 printer is a compact powerhouse of features for fast, hassle-free mobile printing, weighing in at just 1.8kg. It delivers 4800dpi (optimised) true-to-life, six-ink printing, with separate photo cartridge purchase, a long-lasting lithium-ion battery and flexible connectivity options such as parallel, USB, fast infrared and Bluetooth. The DJ450 prints up to 9ppm (pages per minute) in black and 8ppm colour and comes standard with 16MB of RAM memory. Cartridges last for 400 colour pages.
