Fuji Xerox Phaser 8560The Phaser 8560 MFP prints up to 30 pages per minute (ppm), with a first page out time of 5-6 seconds, and is designed to provide flexible media handling, booklet printing and image smoothing capabilities. The printer uses specially-shaped solid ink instead of toner cartridges, which makes maintenance easier, according to Fuji Xerox. It also claims this machine produces 97 per cent less waste to landfill than traditional laser printers. Designed to suit office environments, the Phaser 8560 MFP features copy, scan and fax capabilities, and includes a scanning software bundle that allows users to convert paper and PDF documents into editable and searchable documents supporting Microsoft Office applications.

Lexmark X560nThis network-ready colour laser MFP is built for medium and large businesses. According to Lexmark, duplex printing helps reduce paper usage, while high yield cartridges reduce running costs and create less waste for the environment. Over four years, the vendor claims users will require seven fewer cartridges when using the T644 laser printer cartridge. The X560n features a fast 400MHz PostScript3 and PCL6 Print Controller, will automatically adjust colour with photo, presentation and Web page modes to optimize output quality, and has an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) engine. This allows users to scan the contents of a document into a spreadsheet or word processor while retaining the format of text and columns. The document can also be saved in HTML format.

HP LaserJet P1006Designed as a small and affordable option for small businesses, the HP LaserJet P1006 features HP's Instant On Technology and promises a first print page speed of 8.5 seconds, with overall print speeds up to 17ppm. HP claims the Instant On function provides up to 50 per cent in energy savings over traditional fusing. HP said its new patented Spherical Monochrome Toner and redesigned print cartridges increase the precision of toner placement to deliver bold, crisp text and sharp images. The spherical properties and uniform particle size of the toner also enables a more efficient printing process, which leads to a smaller cartridge design that requires less plastic than previous generations of cartridges.
