NetGear, a Bay Networks company, has slashed the price of its FE range of 100Mbps Fast Ethernet hubs which are designed for small businesses.
The cuts range from 15 to 35 per cent across the FE range, which includes the FE104 four-port hub, FE108 eight-port hub, FE508 rack-mountable eight-port hub and FE516 16-port hub, which all implement 100Base-TX.
Recommended retail prices for the FE Series hubs now range from $299, for the FE104, to $1799 for the FE516.
"Small business users are finding the performance of their traditional 10Mbps Ethernet network is being pushed to the limit by applications such as multimedia, groupware, imaging and client/server databases," said Ian McLean, NetGear's sales and marketing manager in Australia and New Zealand.
"Small business and SOHO power users can protect investments they may have made in a 10Mbps network by adding new, faster hubs to that network rather than replacing it."
NetGear products are distributed in Australia through resellers specialising in the SOHO market.
