Data recovery provider, SpectrumData, has unveiled a new partner program and is on the hunt for resellers on on-sell its services.
The Perth-based company's Storage Success Partner Program encompasses a new channel portal and deal registration system. Resellers will need to submit customer opportunities online to get involved.
Recently installed CEO, Craig Tamlin, said part of his mandate was to build up the company's commercial data services business. SpectrumData provides managed backup, ediscovery, data preservation and data on-call services.
"We're helping clients who buy new tape and backup software technology of a different format to what they had in the past. With regulatory compliance and increasing electronic delivery of data, they have to have access to historical data," he said. "In the commercial space, resellers are key - they are the ones selling new tape, disc and backup products and are the ones clients will ask about old tapes.
"We're targeting them because they're the ones currently in that environment and who our services fit neatly with."
SpectrumData has also launched a referral program for partners who opt out of the migration work or transaction. These partners will be given a SpectrumData debit card and will accrue credit which they can use towards products and services. For example, they could include legal firms employing its ediscovery services, Tamlin said.
The more partners, the merrier, he said. Data recovery could suit smaller 2-3 man resellers through to larger integrators like Dimension Data and Alphawest.
"We're looking for any reseller who might sell new backup hardware or software," Tamlin said.
The company is in discussions with several potential partners now, he said.
SpectrumData is also offering Perth resellers the opportunity to on-sell its back-up management services to their customers as part of an outsourced IT operation.
The company will investigate branching into the Melbourne and Sydney markets next year, Tamlin said.
