Security vendor, MailGuard, has hired Pieter Steetsel as its northern region partner sales manager. He replaces Cathrine Grieve, who was the company's national partner manager for two years.
Steetsel will provide partners with sales tools, collateral, expertise and training.
"Our reseller numbers have doubled in the last 18 months," he said. "I'll be looking at plans to consolidate the growth in our current base." Steetsel hinted at plans to launch a new channel program in the New Year. MailGuard has more than 100 partners in the local market including Invizage, NetForce, Pacific Internet and System Works.
"There are going to be some new developments in the areas of channel programs and products," he said. "There are always new developments and capabilities that customers need in order to keep themselves secure.
"My plans are to talk about MailGuard's technology and push it out through our local channel."
Prior to joining MailGuard, Steetsel spent about 18 months at Autodesk where he was the sales executive manager. His resume also includes three years at Apple as its corporate and government channel manager. He has also held roles at MapInfo and Dataflow Computer Services.
The company has also appointed Garry Hoover as its financial controller. He was previously the CFO and company secretary of carsales.com.au.
