Avaya is offering free Web-based training courses to all of its partners.
Regional channel account manager of SMB, Gavin Milton-White, said the vendor wanted to give partners the opportunity to complete any type of training through its Avaya University without being restricted by costs.
"There used to be varying rates of charges - some courses were quite expensive, some weren't - and if you were a business partner, you not only had to invest in your time but also financially to do the training," he said.
The Web-based training caters for product sales, design, implementation and support for Avaya's ECG and SMB products.
White said partners could now retain more highly trained staff and drive increased profitability.
"We see that if we take away those charges, partners will want to invest more time in training because they know it will make them more capable and ultimately they can service their customers better," he said.
The Avaya University could also be a resource for customers to go to, White said. "Customers can do the same training as our partners on a technical scale, if they wish to enable their own systems," he said.
