Simpson Desert run for Axxis

Simpson Desert run for Axxis

A three-man team from Dubbo-based reseller, Axxis Technology, has persevered through six months of intensive training to participate in the 20th anniversary of the Simpson Desert Cycle Classic. Covering 600km of sand in five days, the crew, consisting of Mathew Dickerson, Michael Harvey and Tim Sullivan, ventured from Purnie Bore in South Australia to Birdsville in Queensland. All up there were about 50 riders and 80 support crew involved in the event. Each day involved a six-hour morning stint followed by four hours in the afternoon facing sand dunes, hot winds and the harsh sun the Simpson Desert served up. The event raised more than $10,000 in funds for the 4Wheels4Sean charity, which aims to assist severely injured cyclists. Axxis also sponsored the event along with Kaseya, Eaton Powerware and Natural Power Solutions.

The support crew for the Axxis team included Paul Loxley, Kim Williams, Phil Ackerman and Mick Smith.
