• 14 November, 2007 09:00

Expanding its footprint in Australia, Toshiba (Australia) Information Systems Division (ISD) today extended its value-added reseller partnership with Datacom in New Zealand to include Australia. The agreement confirms Datacom as an Australian tier one reseller for Toshiba, reselling Toshiba’s industry-leading line of mobile computing solutions, which includes notebooks, projectors, accessories and enhanced services/warranties.

“Datacom’s national reach and strength in the corporate and government markets will help Toshiba further cement its leadership position in Australia,” said Callum Eade, National Channel Sales Manager, Australia, Toshiba ISD. “We began our partnership with Datacom in New Zealand 18 months ago, and the relationship has proven very successful. Expanding it across the Tasman is a natural evolution.”

Datacom has an extensive client base across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. With 2,400 staff and annual revenues of $360 million, it is one of Australasia’s largest IT services companies.

Datacom’s strong presence throughout Australia’s eastern states as well as in South and West Australia will enable Toshiba to expand its business nationally and better meet the needs of partners in growing markets.

“Through this partnership, our customers will be able to access some of the most comprehensive, innovative mobile computing technologies on the market,” said Mark McWilliams, Director of Datacom Systems NSW. “Extending the Datacom-Toshiba partnership across the Tasman promises to give our Australian customers greater choice and flexibility when it comes to their mobile computing solutions. This move is consistent with Datacom’s overarching objective of becoming a regional partner of choice for our customers throughout Australasia,” continued McWilliams.

This strategic partnership reinforces Toshiba’s long-standing commitment to the channel. Toshiba remains 100 per cent committed to selling through the channel. For a full list of Toshiba Authorised Resellers, please visit www.isd.toshiba.com.au.
