Managed service provider, Infoplex, has signed a reseller agreement with US-based data centre virtualisation vendor, Xsigo Systems.
The company has also obtained six Xsigo VP 780 I/O directors to install in its Sydney and Melbourne datacentres. Infoplex managing director, Sean Kaye, said Infoplex did a lot of work around virtualisation and within their own datacentres. He claimed it had begun to see a need for a virtualised I/O fabric.
"We started doing some investigating in that space," Kaye said. "We made contact with Xsigo about their product development and conducted a proof of concept trial, which is where we did some implementation work around it.
"Xsigo has a very strong technical background and that gave us some comfort that these people were serious about the market."
Kaye said the solution worked well for customers focused on virtualising their environment. Key markets for Infoplex include construction, engineering, banking and large enterprise.
"We can now deliver fully virtualised environments from hardware right through to the software layer for customers," he said. "We have a lot of skills on the implementation side, so we can manage that for customers or work with them and pass those skills on to help them implement it into their environment."
