Gigabyte crunches on Bluetooth dongle

Everyone agrees on one thing: less cables would be a whole lot better. Bluetooth is a technology that has long been knocking on the wireless door, and Gigabyte has announced a dongle that will wirelessly connect a range of devices, such as phones, printers, PDAs and notebook computers. The Bluetooth Dongle GN-BTD01 is a single-chip Bluetooth system with stack software support. It features low-power standby modes for power management and is fully pre-qualified with V1.1 BQB (Bluetooth Qualification Body). The device is compatible on Windows 98/ME/2000/XP operating systems and is aimed at commercial and industrial business users. The GN-BTD01 has a recommended retail price of $99 and is available immediately from Rectron.
