Targus is offering a cool respite for notebooks prone to overheating, releasing two new CoolPad products that enhance the cooling efficiency of notebooks. The Coolpads are designed to improve the airflow around the notebook and provide a convenient and stable base on which to work. The Standard CoolPad reduces the computer's operating temperature by raising the rear edge, which allows the air to circulate underneath. Weighing 425 grams, the two-layered device swivels 360 degrees, making it easy to position the screen for optimal viewing. The larger model Podium CoolPad pivots in the same manner as the standard model but also allows the user to adjust the height. Greater cooling efficiency can be achieved due to the larger airspace beneath the computer. The extra elevation provided on this model also helps to make the ports and access slots on the notebook computer more accessible, according to the company. Covered by full 12-month warranties, the Standard CoolPad carries a retail price tag of $44.95, while the Podium is priced at $64.95.
