Infotronics has established a distribution deal with US based storage vendor, Data Domain.
Infotronics technical director, Phil Lancaster, said the deal stemmed from Data Domain's vendor partnership with VisionCore, which the distributor also had in its product portfolio.
"We do a lot of business in the VisionCore space," he said. "We looked into it and found they [Data Domain] had some exceptionally good case studies on how much they have been able to reduce data in storage in conjunction with VisionCore."
Lancaster said Data Domain was a significant addition to its line-up of disaster recovery vendors.
"It allows us to provide a more full solution for our partners," he said.
Infotronics will have access to entire Data Domain range including its DDX Array series, appliances and gateways. The vendor also produces virtual tape library and replicator software, which features fast online data recovery, remote office data protection and flexible deployment options.
Lancaster said he would initially target the VMware and storage integrator markets.
"Our focus is going to be working with a small number of partners that are keen to take the product out to the market place," he said. "We've got hundreds of resellers in this space. It just a process of meeting these people and showing them what Data Domain can do."
