Broad-based distributor, Synnex, has launched its National Sales Centre (NSC), a new sales team focused on managing resellers Australia-wide.
The NSC is made up of a team of experienced internal account managers divided into four location-based sales teams: Victoria (which includes South Australia and Tasmania), New South Wales (including the ACT), Queensland (including the Northern Territory) and Western Australia. The team is headed up by Tanya Martin.
Each of these teams contains four people, making up a total group of 16. Of these, six are new additions to the company.
"We will add more [staff] as the service continues to grow. This is only step one, and it is an addition to our current system - it's not a left to right change," national sales manager, Arthur Gimisis, said.
"The change in structure is driven from a sales point of view. The concern was that customers needed local support and were queuing in long lines. Before our new system, it was more of a call centre environment, which made it hard to build relationships with our customers."
According to Gimisis, the new business model will ensure Synnex's customers are clearly identified according to their market segment, product focus and geographical location. With more localised support, the sales force will be better able to meet the specific requirements of the resellers, he said.
