Computer World placed into administration

External administrators appointed to Victorian-based reseller chain

Victorian-based reseller chain, Computer World, has been placed into administration.

External administrator, Andrew Hewitt, was appointed to the company yesterday, according to documents posted on the Australian Securities and Investments Commission website.

Multimedia Technology managing director, John Hassall, confirmed the distributor was owed about $250,000 by Computer World. Computer World has six shop fronts across Victoria and NSW. It opened its first store in the Victorian suburb of Dandenong in 1992.

According to its website, Computer World focuses on selling PC systems and peripherals and offers more than 15,000 product lines. Key vendor partners include Microsoft, IBM, Intel, HP and Seagate.
