Unisys adds security to managed services

Unisys has struck up a deal with security vendor Check Point Software which will see the IT services company provide managed security services to its customers.

The Unisys Managed Services business currently provides management and monitoring services for between 15,000 to 20,000 end-user network devices in Australia.

Following a global agreement between the two companies, Unisys became Check Point's first premier certified management security provider in Australia. As a result, Unisys will provide managed firewall, virus protection and intrusion detection services using Check Point software.

As part of the arrangement, Unisys has also licensed a product from Check Point called ProviderOne, which enables the service provider to manage multiple firewalls simultaneously from its data centre in Sydney.

Unisys officials said its managed services business has tripled in size in the last 12 months.
