Company aims to develop its partnerships with SIs and ISVs

Business intelligence outfit, Information Builders, has hired three new staff for its Sydney office.

Angel Ioannou has been hired as the company's alliance manager. He will be in charge of developing and growing partnerships with system integrators and independent software vendors (ISVs). Ioannou previously spent 14 years with IBM holding various roles such as NSW territory partner manager.

Regional director, Paul Beks, said Ioannou's knowledge of the channel would help develop the company's partnerships.

"We've got some major opportunities happening in the IBM channel and Ioannou's experience with the IBM channel will be incredibly valuable for us," Beks said.

Information Builders had about four software integration partners on its books and Ioannou's challenge was to try and add 5-10 more partners, predominantly in the applications solutions area, he said.

Ioannou would also be working on using the company's new OEM arrangement with IBM, which allows IBM to distribute a version of its WebFocus business intelligence suite on the IBM System i platform.

"We are after partners that have already got applications and are looking to extend them," Beks said.

Vishal Sinha has also been recruited, as a senior solutions architect, and Simram Gill has come on board as a business intelligence solutions architect, taking staff numbers up to 20.
