Acer TravelMate 4000

The recently introduced Acer TravelMate 4000 is aimed at business users or home users with a featured cluster of access ports, a non-slip carry grip and Acer's SignalUp wireless technology. The wide aspect 15.4-inch WXGA display is designed to offer the convenience of viewing large spreadsheets on a single screen. Moreover, the TravelMate 4000 comes complete with five-hour battery life, 40GB hard disk drive, up to 2GB memory and built-in DVD+/-RW drive. The cluster access ports include Firewire, S-Video and USB connections for a variety of digital devices including printers, digital cameras, handheld PCs and new generation mobile phones. The Centoris E+ Series notebook is designed to deliver performance and superior graphic capabilities for demanding home and business use. This offering features an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 graphics card and a high-quality 15-inch TFT LCD (1400 x 1050 resolution), targeted at online gaming, content creation and graphic intensive activities. Intel Centrino Mobile Technology provides the E+ Series with both mobile processing power and wireless capabilities, while 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet speed enables fast network connection. With five hours of battery life, this notebook supports up to 2GB of RAM, 80GB hard disk drive and 64MB of discrete video memory. Toshiba Satellite M30 Special Edition

The Satellite M30 Special Edition offers Clear Super View (CSV) high-brightness screen technology, a video engine which enables traditional television-quality video entertainment on a notebook screen and a composite video in port so users can connect their gaming console or camcorder for on demand gaming and home movies. Designed for home users and gamers, it features SRS WOW and TruSurround XT technology combined with Harman Kardon stereo speakers. This offering also features a DVD Super Multi drive that supports both +/- DVD formats and includes DVD-RAM functionality to allow users to backup large amounts of data without DVD compatibility issues. The Express Media Player feature allows users to watch their DVD movies without booting up the Microsoft Windows operating system. HP Compaq nx7010

The HP Compaq Business Notebook nx7010 features widescreen, a 1.8GHz Intel Centrino processor, Windows XP Professional and a slim-line design. The 15.4-inch widescreen display also features a wide viewing angle and a 16:10 aspect ratio, designed for watching and editing digital DVD content. The notebook weighs 2.95kg and is 3.45cm high. It also features up to an 80Gb hard drive, integrated 802.11b/g Wireless LAN and Bluetooth, ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 Graphics with 64MB dedicated memory, a choice of optical drives, USB 2.0 and IEEE1394 ports. The HP Compaq Business Notebook nx7010 is distributed through Tech Pacific, Ingram Micro and Dicker Data.

IBM's ThinkPad T42

Recently combined with a fingerprint reader for added security, the ThinkPad T42 weighs in at 2kg, measures 2.5cm and offers up to 7.5 hours of extended battery life. ThinkPad T42 models are available with either Intel's Pentium M Processor 725 1.6GHz or the Pentium M 735 1.7GHz. All models feature multiple options for wireless connectivity based on 802.11b, 802.11 b/g, or Bluetooth Wireless Technology. They also come standard with a modem, Gigabit Ethernet and Infrared port. Equipped with IBM's patented hard drive protection technology the ThinkPad T42 is designed for greater durability and a microchip on the system board detects system acceleration (such as in a fall) and responds by temporarily parking the drive's read/write head. The ThinkPad T42 is distributed through Tech Pacific, Ingram Micro, Synnex and IT Wholesale.
