Perth, Australia, 9 October 2007 – SpectrumData, one of the largest data transcription, recovery and migration companies in the world, today announced the appointment of Craig Tamlin as its new CEO. This new role will see Tamlin returning to Perth to head SpectrumData at the company’s Australian Data Management Centre. He spent the last twenty years on the Eastern seaboard in various senior management roles in the storage industry.

In this role, Tamlin will be responsible for driving growth beyond SpectrumData’s traditional oil and gas market and into corporate data centre markets in banking, finance, insurance and Government sectors. SpectrumData is also keen to develop partnership programs and networks with the channel.

Tamlin said, "I am thrilled to be joining SpectrumData at a time when data storage and recovery is an essential part of a successful business. In an environment where access to data is critical for business continuity, compliance and so much more, SpectrumData is poised to experience strong growth in the coming months. I am looking forward to leading the team which will drive that growth,"

Guy Holmes, Director of SpectrumData, said, “Craig has just the right blend of experience and enthusiasm to establish and develop new and lasting relationships with strategic customers. As our business grows and changes we need an innovative and motivated leader who can drive us into new markets whilst growing pre-established relationships. I am confident that Craig is the right person to take on this challenge.”

Prior to joining SpectrumData, Tamlin was Country Manager for Quantum ANZ, managing the company’s reseller and distribution channel and working with large customers to design, support and build their data protection solutions.

Tamlin previously held key roles in IBM Australia and IBM USA. He worked in national and international technical support, and has published four books – three focused on backup, recovery and hierarchical storage management.
