NSW-based audio visual distributor, Image Design Technology (IDT), has signed two deals with display vendors, Planar and Premier Mounts.
IDT marketing manager, Warwick Maver, said it had already distributed Planar's video cubes and fl at panel LCD products.
Planar has about four models in its projector portfolio with a starting price of $1390. IDT will distribute Premier's range of LCD, projector and plasma mounts.
"It will enable us to provide the market with more choice," he said.
"We're going to sell this product to a limited network of resellers and they will be chosen from our existing group of AV partners."
Maver said partners would be offered the projectors exclusively in a specific territory. To qualify for this, resellers must have exposure in the AV sector, commit to marketing the product and carry demonstration equipment. He said he would include bundles that offer OS screens, Calypso control systems, Magenta's digital signage over Cat 5 and Premier projector mounts. Target markets include education, training facilities and boardrooms.
Maver said Planar's projector portfolio would not eat the lunch of other vendors whose products it offered, such as inFocus and NEC.
"It doesn't compete with anything. It fills another spot in the Planar portfolio and it complements their video cube and LCD flat panels," Maver said.
