RAD Data Communications ACE-3600

This unit is designed to accommodate rapid expansion in mobile backhaul traffic resulting from the widespread deployment of 3G services. Using ATM pseudowire emulation edge-to-edge (PWE3) technology, the ACE-3600 multiservice aggregation unit provides connectivity between the Node B and RNC using Ethernet-based services. The device supports aggregation of multiple STM-1/OC-3 links over gigabit Ethernet. Traffic aggregation reduces capital and operating expenses by reducing the number of links in the network. It also uses higher speed ports in the network's core. The ACE-3600 permits operators to implement overbooking strategies, enabling them to optimise network use, conserve existing resources and reduce the number of leased services required to support their networks, according to RAD.

Linksys WRT350N

Designed to provide up to four times the range and 12 times the throughput of standard Wireless-G solutions, the WRT350N is the first offering of its kind from Linksys. At throughput speeds of up to 1000Mbps, gigabit switching lessens the limitations normally present when transmitting between wired and wireless connections. In addition, it contains Storage Link, which allows any USB 2.0 storage device to become networked attached storage by plugging it into the WRT350N. The always-on media server functionality within Storage Link enables users to stream digital media to any enabled digital media adapter without the use of a PC. Wireless transmissions made using the device can be encoded to help protect data and privacy. The device supports VPN pass-through and has an SPI firewall to protect against Internet attacks.
