According to Mr. Kelvin Lee, General Manager of Green Packet Berhad, these two partnerships will function on a long term basis in accordance to Green Packet’s expansion plans. “We have already seen results with the launch of Telekom Malaysia (TM) Berhad’s iTalk Buddy late last week. The collaboration between Green Packet, MOR(F) and E-Gal have provided TM with an integrated platform to power its iTalk Buddy,” he said.

“Our combined strength has provided TM a total solution that complement’s its iTalk prepaid IDD card that would help them increase Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) and provide value-added services to increase customer retention and loyalty,” Lee explained adding that the iTalk Buddy functions as a portal with an integrated instant messenger for end users which includes features like chat, file sharing, internet sharing, screen sharing, gaming and online shopping.

The three companies already have plans to take the partnership global and have already started discussions with various service providers around the region. “We have had good response especially within the Asia Pacific region to roll out these solutions,” Lee said.

Lee added that that Green Packet is confident that with E-GAL Corporation’s sales and marketing experience, Green Packet state-of-the-art SONbuddy Connect! Platform and MOR(F)’s Moji virtual pet, the company will be able to catapult itself further in the global market place.

Mr. Robert Fong, CEO of MOR(F) said that the MOJI, which gained much attention during the recent CommunicAsia, is an instant messenger with a new dimension. Its virtual qualities enable it to communicate its desires and thoughts to you. “We are confident that this kind of technology will enhance a user’s experience by changing the way we interact with computers, making it a more life-like, personal experience”, he said. “For MOR(F) this is a significant achievement for us as the 6 year agreement allows us to scale and grow our products within the SEA region and to provide local content to the Malaysian public”. He also said that MOR(F) was honoured to be invited to be working with companies in the areas of technology and telecommunications and widely considered to be on the bleeding edge of innovation like Green Packet and E-Gal.

E-Gal Corporation, on the other hand, is confident that they can help Green Packet and MOR(F) develop new market segments and grow into similar segments especially within the region. Having been in the marketing and distribution sector for many years now, E-Gal is already ahead of its game.

“We are looking forward to marketing this innovative platform combined with the various attractive features provided via its creative software. We feel that there is a market out there that we can tap into as it caters to young IT enthusiasts who seek a single platform to service their needs in a personalised manner whether for business or personal functions,” said En. Lokman Razani Razak, Executive Chairman of E-Gal Corporation Sdn Bhd.

Lokman stressed that he was very encouraged at the response that iTalk Buddy has received in a matter of days and is confident that its success will rub off on the three companies. “We were excited to be working with TM on the innovative, one-of-a-kind iTalk Buddy and we hope that other telecommunications providers in the region will recognize this success.”
