NetApp has introduced storage availability audit and rapid deployment services to make it easier for channel partners to set up and deploy storage solutions for midsize enterprise customers.
The fixed-price services follow the release of its NAS2020 and NAS2050 devices, which allow users to consolidate direct attached storage (DAS) into a single networked solution and scale on demand.
Director of marketing, Mark Heers, said NetApp wanted to ensure customers were getting maximum benefit from its systems. He defined the midsize enterprise market as 100-1000 employees.
"Services are a key part of any storage sale and NetApp is very supportive of resellers taking advantage of them," he said. "We have been doing storage availability audits for some time but only for premium support customers. Now we are making them available to everybody."
Heers said rapid deployment services were about getting the right expertise in to provide a turnkey solution and ensuring partners receive new product training.
"If customers want to change something or go to a new system, we make sure we can get them running and ready to go," he said. "We have special teams involved with early deployment so by the time a product is announced and starts being sold, we've got teams ready to implement, install and guide customers until its up and running."
