Communications software vendor, Teleware, has promoted Richard Adams to general manager. He replaces Mike Blanchard, who has moved on to a role with systems integrator, Gen-i.
Adams previously headed up Teleware's business development for a couple years. His resume also includes various sales and marketing roles with Telstra.
One of the first focal points in the new role is to set up the company's new division, Private Mobile Networks. This will focus on supplying private mobile networks which integrate with the company's existing range of communications applications.
The division will operate as a separate entity. Adams will also hold the general manager position within that business and hopes to launch it in the next couple of months.
"We just need to sort out a lot of legislative issues first," he said. "A lot of it is based around the mobile spectrum so we have got a lot of work around that to prepare. It's still very early days."
Adams said vertical areas of opportunity for the new solutions included the emergency services, defence and police markets as well as organisations with remote access needs.
He will also work on expanding Teleware's reseller base and nurture existing partnerships.
"At the moment, with Express Data, we are trying to drive more resellers to sell our bundle products with Cisco," he said. "One of the other things we have been pursuing over the last 6-12 months is continuing to grow our market share in the corporate space."
