Hitachi Data Systems, provider of Application Optimised Storage™ solutions and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), today announced its Business Consulting Practice for Australia and New Zealand to assist organisations to maximise the value of their storage investments.

The Business Consulting Practice offers strategic planning and operational best practices that diffuse the economic, risk and management overheads associated with storage growth and complexity. The practice focuses on five key areas, including:

• Business Continuity and Risk – applying sound risk management and methodologies to identify, assess and remediate business and technology risk across the enterprise.

The team is led by Michael Cunningham, Director of Consulting and Solutions in Australia and New Zealand. Formally the Director of Solutions and Support Services, Michael has been with the company for five years and in his last position built the Professional Services Practice from a standing start to a contribution of greater than 13 percent of local revenues.
• Paul MacPherson has 17 years of experience in consulting to large multinationals in Europe, the United States and Asia as Bid Manager, Infrastructure Architect and Programme Director for Accenture. Paul was admitted to practice as a Solicitor and Barrister in the Supreme Court of the Australia Capital Territory.
