BlueCentral scores 247Network deal

Hosting and infrastructure outfit, Blue-Central, has won a three-year agreement to undertake an infrastructure upgrade for 247Network. The financial details were not disclosed. BlueCentral managing director, Anthony Banek, said the deal emphasized its specialty in the new media and Web 2.0 space.

"Hosting mobile platforms is our forte. We have also hosted other media sites such as MP3.com.au and that was one of the reasons 247Network looked at us as a potential provider," he said.

247Network publishes an online dining and entertainment guide - my247.com.au, which recently experienced about 40 per cent growth in traffic to the site.

Banek said one of the customer's key requirements was to have infrastructure that was scalable and reliable.

BlueCentral was formerly called destra Hosting. Parent company, Blue-Freeway, purchased the assets for $20 million in November.
