Dimension Data has achieved Premier Partner status with VMware.
The integrator will now have access to VMware's professional services IP that aims to deliver virtual infrastructure engagements.
General manager of datacentre solutions, Ronnie Altit, said to gain this status it had to have the right number of people trained as well as the ability to prove transaction records in terms of the volume and business that it does with VMware.
"This acknowledges the investment we have made in their products and technologies," he said. "For us it is very important. We always aim to have the highest level of accreditation possible with the vendors we work with."
Along with being a Premier Partner, DiData has also qualified as a VMware Accredited Consulting (VAC) partner, which gives them access to advanced training and service accreditations, joint solutions development and delivery with VMware, co-branding and marketing activities as well as not-for-resale software.
Altit said its new status would provide customers with a sense of comfort about DiData's expertise in virtualisation.
"When we couple this with our certifications in the storage and data management space, customers can have a degree of confidence in the skills DiData can bring to help them create the most appropriate solution for their environment," he said. "It will open up opportunities for us where customers are concerned with getting the best possible advice and perhaps it will be more a differentiator for us in the market."
