Security Vendor seeks to attract infrastructure system integrators for its MACH 5 product

Internet security vendor, Blue Coat Systems, is looking to triple its dealer base to help push its new MACH 5 product into the market.

Multiprotocol Accelerated Caching Hierarchy (MACH) technology aims to accelerate key applications within organisations such as Web, file services, video, email/Microsoft Exchange and live streaming. Asia-Pacific product manager, Leigh Costin, said it was after two types of partners: infrastructure system integrators and resellers. The company currently has 10 partners signed on.

"We have quite an extensive array of security partners and a few them are looking to move into the secure infrastructure space, which is a definite market for us," he said.

The company recently opened up an office in Melbourne. As well as building up numbers in that state, Costin said it would also like to establish more partners in Canberra.

Partners that sign up have the opportunity to access Blue Coat's dealer registration program and reseller portal, which offers access to staff and online training collateral. Costin said it was also currently drawing up a tiered reseller program.

"The dealer registration program provides a degree of comfort for resellers to know that they are going to get the kind of attention they want from us when they register a deal," he said. "Once the deal is approved they get access to additional margin and reassurance they will be the front runner in that particular project."
