Plasmon UDO2Building on the technology from its predecessor, the Ultra Density Optical 1 (UDO), Plasmon's latest blue-laser storage device offers users double the capacity and a 50 per cent performance increase. In tandem with its UDO Archive Appliance, users can consolidate and scale their archives from 1TB to more than 76TB in single archive appliance. UDO2 offers the same data authenticity, permanence and longevity as UDO1, which, the vendor claims, helps to minimize data migration frequency and media maintenance and lowers running costs. It is also backwards-read compatible with UDO1 and enables upgrades that offer to extend system life and protect existing investments. The device supports rewriteable UDO media formats in a single library or appliance and has a USB 2.0 interface.
