<p>SUNNYVALE, CALIF.—Sept. 20, 2004—AMD (NYSE: AMD) today further expanded its family of low-voltage mobile processors designed to offer outstanding performance, security and true mobility for thin and light notebooks. The new Mobile AMD Athlon™ 64 processor 3000+ for thin and light notebooks enables a powerful 32-bit computing experience today with a seamless transition to 64-bit computing. Like all the award-winning AMD64 processors, this new low-voltage mobile processor also offers Enhanced Virus Protection (EVP) designed to prevent the spread of certain malicious viruses when enabled by Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).</p>

<p>Global PC vendor Acer Inc. has upgraded their popular Ferrari brand notebook with the new Mobile AMD Athlon 64 processor 3000+ for thin and light notebooks.</p>
