Software services provider and UXC subsidiary, Eclipse Computing, has created a new Corporate Performance Management (CPM) and Business Intelligence (BI) division.
Canadian and internationally recognised CPM expert, David Hunter, has been appointed as executive manager of the division which will have a strong focus on Microsoft's BI product set.
He said businesses were increasingly looking to performance and intelligence tools in a bid to branch out from traditional means of viewing company data.
"The types of products being delivered currently hit a specific part of the organisation, such as operations or the customer service side of things," Hunter said. "But people are realising that to run a company effectively, they need good data and decision making around all the information in an organisation."
While Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) had sufficed in years past, businesses were beginning to query what other data needed to be looked at using the same toolset, he said.
"Gone are the days when organisations could buy a tool for this and a tool for that and have different departments working with different tools on the same data," he said. "We'll be working from a strategic level to find these business problems and solve them."
Hunter has worked with companies and government agencies in North America, Europe and Australia.
