LAN Systems has filled the senior management hole left by the departure of Tony Heywood with former Epson marketing director, Ralph Marshall.
Marshall will be in charge of running the distributor's Cisco business unit. He starts with LAN on July 9. General manager, Wendy O'Keeffe, said she was impressed with his professionalism and experience and felt he would be a good addition to the team.
As well as two years with Epson, Marshall has held marketing and management roles within several IT and telco vendors including Telstra, Vodafone, Toshiba and IBM. He was also country manager of telco products distributor, Brightpoint Australia, for two years.
"Ralph comes with a lot of background in marketing and some consumer skills, which we feel makes him a perfect fit," O'Keeffe said. "If you look at where Cisco is going in terms of its SMB push and the way it wants to build the brand out, he offers strong experience around that."
Heywood resigned from LAN last month to take on a new regional sales management's role with WA-based integrator, ComputerCorp. He had been in charge of the distributor's Cisco business since 2003.
