SurfControl putts in $5000

SurfControl's 2007 Security Challenge Golf Cup went off to a tee as 85 IT professionals got together to raise $5000 for Surf Life Saving NSW.

Co-hosts and event sponsors included Avnet Technology Solutions, Check Point, Microsoft, Alphawest, Optus and Data#3.

Half way through the 18-hole course, golfers were treated to an Avnet-sponsored International Beer Tent, where they were pitted against each other in a trivia match. They also got behind a charity auction. The winning team was made up of Alphawest's Dino Davanzo, Laundy Hotel Group's Stuart Laundy, Optus' Stuart Pritchard and SurfControl's David Lenz. The fastest shot went to the Department of Lands' Barry Jones, who clocked a 240kph drive on the final tee.
