Allied Telesyn Helps Service Providers Gear up for Triple Play

 • 22 June, 2005 11:26

Allied Telesyn International (Australia) has added three new products to its iMG 600 intelligent Multiservice Gateway family. They will provide operators and service providers with the opportunity to deliver 'service rich' IP Triple Play solutions over broadband or fibre technology, enabling them to grow their revenue streams and customer base with differentiated services.

The three new gateways introduced by Allied Telesyn are the AT-iMG634W, the AT-iMG646BD and the AT-iMG613RF. These products complement the existing range of 30 gateways within the company's portfolio.

"The iMG 600 intelligent Multiservice Gateways offer unique IP/Ethernet networking features to optimise operators' delivery of interactive multi-media services to customers," said Mark Jackson, Managing Director of Allied Telesyn (Australia). "Each of them is an industry first, providing vertically integrated features that will accelerate our customers' ability to offer their subscribers a variety of IP services over a secure last mile infrastructure. These new differentiated services – coupled with the providers’ existing offerings – give an opportunity to grow revenues through service bundling."

Allied Telesyn's first wireless gateway solution, the AT-iMG634W, is an intelligent Multiservice Gateway that enables new revenue generating IP Triple Play services to be delivered wirelessly within the home environment. The deployment of a secure, home wireless solution ensures there is no need for new cabling and disruption within the home. These services can be delivered to the consumers’ premises over ADSL and ADSL2/2+ through the operator’s existing copper infrastructure.

The AT-iMG613RF is the ideal platform for operators and service providers who can access native cable TV content for their entry-level deployment of IP Triple Play services over Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTH) networks. It also offers cable and multiple service operators the ability to maintain their investment in video delivery and leverage their existing video content format for delivery over Next-generation IP/Ethernet FTTH-based broadband networks.

The third product is a further addition to the company's investment in FTTH Technology. The AT-iMG646BD offers 100Mbps bi-directional optical interface over a single fibre, allowing cost-effective deployment of new point-to-point infrastructures and doubling the capacity for existing fibre installations. The AT-iMG646BD intelligent Multiservice Gateway offers an easy to manage IP Triple Play Ready CPE solution to FTTH operators whilst providing economies of scale through reduced fibre cabinet space and cost of deployment.

The entire family of iMG 600 series supports centralised deployment and remote management enabled by the industry-leading auto-provisioning system – the Zero Touch Configurator available from Allied Telesyn.

Pricing and Availability

The products are available now and will be demonstrated at a number of selected events that Allied Telesyn is attending throughout the year and through some interactive tools which will be made available on the company's website during the coming months.
