Epson EMP-TW1000

The vendor claims this is the world's first projector featuring HDMI1.3 and supporting full 10 bit colour processing, which produces over 1 billion colours. Employing three Crystal Clear Fine LCD panels, the machine provides the highest resolution digital output from HDDVD and Blu-Ray players. 3LCD technology has no moving parts and does not interrupt the light path, generating bright and natural images as well as playback of action scenes without breaking up the colour. The EMP-TW1000 features a high definition resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and delivers a high maximum contrast ratio of 12000:1 all while increasing the quality of white and black tones. The enhanced auto iris function regulates brightness and contrast at 60 times per second to project clear, detailed, rich and vivid images regardless of the light levels in scenes. The lens contains a wide 2:1 zoom ratio and allows forward and backward movement in relation to the screen. The short focus lens is capable of projecting a 100-inch screen from about three metres away and has a flexible vertical and horizontal lens shift function. The various set up options allow users to reposition the image without compromising image quality. This makes it possible to move the projector around a room whilst viewing without distorting the image. The Epson developed ETORL lamp eliminates light leakage and minimises light diffraction. It also maintains an inbuilt cinema filter, which offers wider colour spaces, purity and optical adjustment of colour tone for accurate reproduction. Epson claims 3LCD projectors operate at lower lamp temperatures than other projection systems of similar brightness, providing quick startup and shut down as well as lessening fan noise. The machine comes with six preset colour modes - Dynamic, Living Room, Natural, Theatre and Theatre Black 1 and 2. Users can select the mode that best suits their environment.
